I realized it’s been a while sense I’ve had a photoshoot with one of my favorite subjects, our longhaired dachshund Ruby. She’s a natural! And she works for carrots.
What’s the best way to celebrate a 45th birthday? Being totally overwhelmed by your closest friends and family throwing you a surprise party at the Norwood Club on 14th street. Also having a Marilyn Monroe look-alike sing “Happy Birthday Mr. President” while the first season of “Hawaii Five-O” plays on a screen in the background probably wouldn’t hurt either. I’m sure this birthday will go down as one Scott won’t forget any time soon.
You may remember seeing Scott from some of my previous blog posts. I had the good fortune of being able to photograph him and Jessica at their wedding last August. I just finished putting together a wedding album for them when Jessica mentioned she was throwing Scott a surprise party and needed someone to document the evening. And what a fun night it was! You can see some of the highlights below.
Scott and Jessica are two of the nicest, most generous people I’ve ever had the pleasure to work with. Their friends and family couldn’t be nicer as well.

I am so happy to have had the opportunity to work with our friends Jessica and Jason and their new baby Ella. A leap year baby! And so cute! Jessica and Jason are no strangers to this blog and if you want a trip down memory lane feel free to check out the stories here, or here, or here. I’m thrilled to be able to help them announce the next chapter in their lives with these pictures of Ella.
Babies at this age really don’t like having their pictures taken but Ella and parents did really well. I think all three of them probably had a nice long nap after I left but hopefully the fun pictures we were able to get made up for any unpleasantness. Welcome to the world baby Ella and congratulations Jessica and Jason. You make up a beautiful family.
