Ryan Trupp Photography | The Blog bio picture

Thank you for visiting my blog!

I update this periodically with my latest images.  Feel free to click the "subscribe by e-mail" button along the bottom to be sure you are notified on my latest postings.  And feel free to let me know what you think!

I love what I do!  I have always loved photography; using my camera to create using composition, light, and shadow, but it wasn't until I started shooting weddings that I really got hooked and said, "This is what I need to be doing".  To work with wonderful people and be able to photograph them on such an exciting day in their lives is what I live for.

It's my goal to make my clients feel as comfortable as possible and to make their time, be it a wedding day, headshots, or a theatrical event, as stress free as I can...and maybe get some beautiful pictures for them along the way!

Birthday Portraits

Can anyone think of a better way to celebrate a birthday than a surprise portrait session?  I was approached by Bethany, the creator behind Fizzy Artist based in Minnesota specializing in some beautiful customized glassware, who said she wanted to get something special for her sister Heather’s birthday.  Their mother, Deann, was in town to see her 6 month old grand-baby, Olivia, and they were due for an updated family portrait.  Heather’s husband, David, was in on the surprise and suggested I meet the family in their apartment uptown.

We had such a great time.  Olivia, who was clearly the star of the show and had every reason to be, was so cute and was a perfect model.  Just look at those baby blue eyes!  David and Heather sang a cute song based Olivia’s name to get her to smile that I still have stuck in my head.

February 23, 2010 - 5:41 pm Betty - these are the CUTEST pictures - love all of them - great work, as usual, Ryan!

February 24, 2010 - 9:20 am Deborah Coates - THESE are gorgeous photos Ryan... I know I'm biased b/c we LOVE the Reed's....and baby Olivia is GORGEOUS (all of NYC thinks so!) But....you truly did a beautiful job...and you are skilled in adding just the right aperture...and editing to make the job -- one of the BEST at home photo sessions. I'm thinking you may need to do some "Coates Family Photos!" Very beautiful work...looking forward to following your work! Blessings, Deborah

February 24, 2010 - 9:32 am Ryan - Thank you so much Deborah! Olivia really is a very sweet baby. With a smile like that, I don't think I could have taken a bad picture to tell you the truth!
