Haiti Benefit

I think we’ve all been effected by the recent pictures of the devastation in Haiti and Chili.  Well, Eric Louie, Rachel Weiss, Ashley Delegal, Taibi Magar, and Sean Thorne all felt like they needed to do something to help.

They came up with NOU SE ZANMI, A Benefit for Haiti which was held in Joe’s Pub last Friday night.  Nou Se Zanmi, which means “we are friends”, brought together a number of amazing young New York theater companies and artists to create new songs and scenes all in response to the recent events in Haiti.  I don’t think there’s a specific number yet as to how much was raised, but the house was totally packed which was really wonderful to see.

All proceeds from the evening went to benefit Partners In Health, which has been working on the ground in Haiti for over 20 years.   Donations can still be made by following the link here to Partners in Health.

Ryan,
This is Luther and Dottie Kistler, Sean’s friends who took Sean along wih us to Haiti on a mission trip. He said that trip inflenced his lfe, and so he wanted to do something in return, and so helped with this show to raise money for Partners in Health. The show raised $1,500, and that is marvellous. It will go a long way in helping the people of Haiti. We have been to Haiti many times, and know many of the places that have been destroyed in the earthquake.
Your picures are fabulous, we are sharing them with our friends here in Orlando.
Thanks a million for the great photography.
Best wishes,
Luther and Dottie Kistler, former neighbors of Sean.

Thank you for your kind words and I’m glad you like the images Luther. I’m so happy to have been a part of this fundraiser and it’s wonderful that so much was raised!
