This is the second year Ashley, my wife, has competed in, and finished with a greatly improved time, the New York City Triathlon. This is also the second year she has had me as her personal photographer / pit crew / and cheer captain and I had to share some highlight shots of the day!
For the last two years, Ashley has trained with Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Team in Training, a group which trains together in an effort to raise money for cancer research. It’s a wonderful organization, and if you have ever contemplated training for one of these amazing feats of endurance, I totally recommend you check them out. The sense of community that comes with being a part of TNT is worth the price of admission, and raising money for such a worthy cause at the same time is bonus. Feel free to check out Ashley’s fundraising page here.
Congratulations to everyone who participated! Finishing a triathlon is such an amazing accomplishment, especially in the heat and humidity we had today!

This was Ashley on the bike portion of the race.
I knew she was doing fine because she had enough energy to blow me a kiss and keep on riding!

Ashley was a mentor this year and this was one of her mentee’s Jason. He seems a little surprised to have recognized me.
You can see the great blog he and his wife Jessica put together chronicling their preparation for the race here.
This was the beginning of the run portion as the racers ran along 72nd street into Central Park
The sign I made for Ashley was not nearly as cool as some of the other signs people had along the race.

Ashley with about 50 meters to go until the end.
Me with my triathlete at the finish! As long as you are racing, I’ll be there cheering you on, Baby! Great job!
