Ryan Trupp Photography | The Blog bio picture

Thank you for visiting my blog!

I update this periodically with my latest images.  Feel free to click the "subscribe by e-mail" button along the bottom to be sure you are notified on my latest postings.  And feel free to let me know what you think!

I love what I do!  I have always loved photography; using my camera to create using composition, light, and shadow, but it wasn't until I started shooting weddings that I really got hooked and said, "This is what I need to be doing".  To work with wonderful people and be able to photograph them on such an exciting day in their lives is what I live for.

It's my goal to make my clients feel as comfortable as possible and to make their time, be it a wedding day, headshots, or a theatrical event, as stress free as I can...and maybe get some beautiful pictures for them along the way!

Birthday Portraits

Can anyone think of a better way to celebrate a birthday than a surprise portrait session?  I was approached by Bethany, the creator behind Fizzy Artist based in Minnesota specializing in some beautiful customized glassware, who said she wanted to get something special for her sister Heather’s birthday.  Their mother, Deann, was in town to...

25th Wedding Anniversary

My aunt Betty and uncle Kermit are celebrating their 25th Wedding Anniversary today!  Congratulations!  They wanted to get some portraits together to mark the occasion.  My fiance and I have pretty much turned Betty and Kermit’s house in Lincoln, Nebraska into our base of operations for all of our wedding plans as it is not...

Ethan

The last time we photographed this little guy in July, he was just a few days old, and very upset about being in the world.  We snapped a bunch of beautiful shots of him sleeping because that’s about all he wanted to do.  Well what a difference 6 months makes.  He is now smiling, giggling,...

Kaleb

You may remember my cousin’s son Kaleb from the blog post of the last time we were in Nebraska to visit family.  Well, he’s grown a lot in the 6 months since that photo shoot, and developed a personality that just makes you want to laugh out loud every five minutes!
Here are a series of...

Coffee Table Books

As many of you know, I’ve been trying to find a good coffee table type book to offer my clients for a while now.  Something a bit smaller and easier to handle than the leather-bound flush mount album that I’ve been offering, but still a quality that I can feel proud about.
Well, the search is...

Kristen & Mike’s Wedding

Back in the fall, I was contacted by a good friend of mine, Amanda Picone, who just happens to be a fabulous photographer, and said a friend of hers was in need of a wedding photographer.  Amanda wouldn’t be able to shoot Kristen’s wedding, it turns out, because she was in the wedding party!  Anyone...

Kristen & Mike’s Wedding Previews

Ashley and I had the privilege of being asked to photograph Kristen and Mike’s wedding yesterday in Princeton, NJ!  We woke up to an inch of snow on the ground in New York and wind chill at zero and I was worried that everyone would be a popsicle by the end of the day.  Can...

Katherine and Eric’s Wedding

As a native Nebraskan living New York City, I was so excited to be asked to photograph Katherine and Eric’s wedding in my home town Scottsbluff, Nebraska!  Ok, so I grew up in Gering which is across the river (go bulldogs!) but when you are talking about a combined population of 21k, which side of...

Katherine & Eric’s Wedding Previews

This Thanksgiving has been a win win for me.  I was able to come home to visit my family out here in Gering, Nebraska for a little turkey and stuffing, and I had the pleasure of being asked to photograph Katherine and Eric’s wedding to boot!  I keep telling people: Have camera, will travel, and...

Ruby, Our Dachshund

As most of you probably know by now, as it’s the only thing we’ve been talking about for 3 weeks, Ashley and I rescued a one year old long-haired Dachshund named Ruby.  As the newest member of our family, it is my job to take at least 900 pictures of her per day because she’s...
