Ryan Trupp Photography | The Blog bio picture

A little bit about me: in list form

I was born in Nebraska and yes we had indoor plumbing
I’ve lived in Colorado, Iowa, Chicago, Ohio, Cape Cod, Manhattan, & Queens
I am both a city boy and a nature boy
I recently married the love of my life
We got married in a barn…no really!
If I’m on the computer I probably have my dog, Ruby, in my lap
I have a strong theatre design background and love all things visual
I have a rusty old bike from 1976 and riding it makes me happy

That’s me in 8 lines or less.  Photography has been a great way for me to meet some truly amazing people. I have a lot of fun with what I do and with the people I meet. Everyone has a different story to tell which makes every day an adventure.

It's my goal to make my clients feel as comfortable as possible and to make their time, be it a wedding day, headshots, or a theatrical event, as stress free as I can...and capture beautiful pictures along the way.

I carry both equipment and liability insurance and am a proud member of Professional Photographers of America and Pictage.

Adrienne & Sandy’s Engagement

As luck would have it, 3 employees of Ryan Trupp Photography are getting married in 2010:  Myself, my fiance Ashley, and one of my best assistants Adrienne.  And I’m lucky enough to have the pleasure of photographing 1 out of 2 of those weddings!  (Bonus points if you can guess which one I’m not photographing!)...

Melanie & Jesse’s Wedding

We had the pleasure of photographing Melanie and Jesse’s wedding at the Arsenal in Central Park.  I’ve photographed so much in the park; weddings, engagement sessions, my parents coming to visit.  And each time is just as interesting as the last.  I love Central Park!  I could photograph a lifetime of weddings within it’s borders...

Melanie & Jesse Wedding Preview

Ask any New Yorker where the center of the universe is and they will probably say it’s right smack dab in the middle of Manhattan.  This also happens to be the location of Central Park.  By this reasoning, Melanie and Jesse’s wedding last night was in the center of the center of the universe.  And...

Jen & Alex’s Engagement Session

I had a great time photographing Jen and Alex’s engagement session last weekend.  These two work in the theatre and are getting married in Fargo, ND in the fall. They needed some New York pictures as a compliment to their wedding but didn’t have a specific location in mind.  I recommended we try The Highline...

Haiti Benefit

I think we’ve all been effected by the recent pictures of the devastation in Haiti and Chili.  Well, Eric Louie, Rachel Weiss, Ashley Delegal, Taibi Magar, and Sean Thorne all felt like they needed to do something to help. They came up with NOU SE ZANMI, A Benefit for Haiti which was held in Joe’s...

Birthday Portraits

Can anyone think of a better way to celebrate a birthday than a surprise portrait session?  I was approached by Bethany, the creator behind Fizzy Artist based in Minnesota specializing in some beautiful customized glassware, who said she wanted to get something special for her sister Heather’s birthday.  Their mother, Deann, was in town to...

25th Wedding Anniversary

My aunt Betty and uncle Kermit are celebrating their 25th Wedding Anniversary today!  Congratulations!  They wanted to get some portraits together to mark the occasion.  My fiance and I have pretty much turned Betty and Kermit’s house in Lincoln, Nebraska into our base of operations for all of our wedding plans as it is not...

Ethan

The last time we photographed this little guy in July, he was just a few days old, and very upset about being in the world.  We snapped a bunch of beautiful shots of him sleeping because that’s about all he wanted to do.  Well what a difference 6 months makes.  He is now smiling, giggling,...
