A little bit about me: in list form

I was born in Nebraska and yes we had indoor plumbing
I’ve lived in Colorado, Iowa, Chicago, Ohio, Cape Cod, Manhattan, & Queens
I am both a city boy and a nature boy
I recently married the love of my life
We got married in a barn…no really!
If I’m on the computer I probably have my dog, Ruby, in my lap
I have a strong theatre design background and love all things visual
I have a rusty old bike from 1976 and riding it makes me happy

That’s me in 8 lines or less.  Photography has been a great way for me to meet some truly amazing people. I have a lot of fun with what I do and with the people I meet. Everyone has a different story to tell which makes every day an adventure.

It's my goal to make my clients feel as comfortable as possible and to make their time, be it a wedding day, headshots, or a theatrical event, as stress free as I can...and capture beautiful pictures along the way.

I carry both equipment and liability insurance and am a proud member of Professional Photographers of America and Pictage.

Adrienne and Sandy’s wedding was just featured on the Blog Emmaline Bride!  You can check out the entire post they put together here.

I think the title to their blog post describes this wedding perfectly.

Jen & Alex’s Engagement Session

I had a great time photographing Jen and Alex’s engagement session last weekend.  These two work in the theatre and are getting married in Fargo, ND in the fall.

They needed some New York pictures as a compliment to their wedding but didn’t have a specific location in mind.  I recommended we try The Highline as I’d been itching for an excuse to visit New York’s newest urban renewal project.  This was an old elevated train line along the West side of Manhattan which has recently been turned into a park and walkway and was a perfect location for pictures.  However, as any New Yorker will tell you, anything new and popular in this city is going to be busy and visiting The Highline on a warm spring day was no exception.  These two had no problem with the crowds and carried on as if the park was made just for them.  I was the one dodging in and out of people and was even scolded once for blocking the path of a 5 year old.  He was polite but firm and I’m happy he didn’t decide to run me over!

Congratulations on your engagement Jen and Alex!  And have a happy spring!

Hmmmm.  Wicked secrets?

Wedding Couple in the Fountain

It just goes to show you, when wandering through New York always keep your camera handy, you never know when you will catch a bride and groom taking a dip in something like Central Park’s Bethesda Fountain!  That’s exactly what happened with me this weekend!  These two apparently were celebrating their one year anniversary by doing their own “trash the dress” session!  Some brides get pictures after the wedding with the dress in the ocean, some in the lake,  some even get lit on fire, this bride decided to jump in the fountain.  She said most people get to wear their wedding dress only once, but not her!  They looked like they were having lots of fun so I had to snap some pictures!

Brand New Website!

My friend Andreea called the other day and asked what I was up to.  I said I was working on updating my website.  She said, “You are always updating your website!”  It’s true!  I just can’t stop revising and adjusting!

Well, I can say I’m finally finished…for a little while!  After much tweaking, I have a brand new “weddings and portraits” site to show off my latest images.  If you haven’t done so yet, click here and take a look!  The address is still the same, but now the images are bigger, the buttons are cleaner, and hopefully the whole site is a little easier to use.  What do you think?

Thank you so much for the feedback everyone has given me so far.  It was much appreciated!  I am currently working on the images from Cheryl and Greg’s wedding I photographed last weekend so stay tuned!

Happy Easter!

Easter Flowers

Hope everyone had a Happy Easter!

Here in New York it doesn’t quite feel warm enough to be spring, but it’s starting to look like it!
