My sister Monica and her husband Ben just had a baby. We headed down to Frisco, Texas to meet him!
Meet baby Levi: 6lbs, 10oz and 19.5 inches in length.

Of course we had to figure out a way to highlight the hat and booties his grandma knitted for him.
He’s gonna hate me for this one when he’s 15.

I love baby feet!

Levi and big brother Baylen who has been so excited for the new baby!

Mom and baby.

Ben got this shot of us from the balcony and I wanted to include it to show our setup for the shoot. Gotta love that Texas sunlight coming in the front door. Perfect for baby photography! This was a typical scene for a while after Levi was brought home. A sleeping baby in the center of attention with the rest of us there to make sure he was happy and well taken care of.

Can anyone think of a better way to celebrate a birthday than a surprise portrait session? I was approached by Bethany, the creator behind Fizzy Artist based in Minnesota specializing in some beautiful customized glassware, who said she wanted to get something special for her sister Heather’s birthday. Their mother, Deann, was in town to see her 6 month old grand-baby, Olivia, and they were due for an updated family portrait. Heather’s husband, David, was in on the surprise and suggested I meet the family in their apartment uptown.
We had such a great time. Olivia, who was clearly the star of the show and had every reason to be, was so cute and was a perfect model. Just look at those baby blue eyes! David and Heather sang a cute song based Olivia’s name to get her to smile that I still have stuck in my head.

My aunt Betty and uncle Kermit are celebrating their 25th Wedding Anniversary today! Congratulations! They wanted to get some portraits together to mark the occasion. My fiance and I have pretty much turned Betty and Kermit’s house in Lincoln, Nebraska into our base of operations for all of our wedding plans as it is not too far from where we are getting married. This portrait session was an excuse for me to help pay them back for all their help so far. Kermit has also agreed to take our wedding pictures and we can’t wait for that!
Congratulations Betty and Kermit! Here’s to another happy 25!

The last time we photographed this little guy in July, he was just a few days old, and very upset about being in the world. We snapped a bunch of beautiful shots of him sleeping because that’s about all he wanted to do. Well what a difference 6 months makes. He is now smiling, giggling, and even flirting with my fiance. Back off Ethan, she’s taken!
Ashley and I had a good time visiting family out in Nebraska and it’s always a treat to visit the babies of the family. I snapped some pictures of Ethan’s cousin, Kaleb in the last blog post. Ethan’s going to be chasing Kaleb soon enough and then look out!

hmmm. Something new to play with…and in my mouth it goes!

You may remember my cousin’s son Kaleb from the blog post of the last time we were in Nebraska to visit family. Well, he’s grown a lot in the 6 months since that photo shoot, and developed a personality that just makes you want to laugh out loud every five minutes!
Here are a series of pictures randomly snapped while we were all waiting for lunch the other day. His cousin, Ethan, was also the subject of many of my shots and I’ll post those next. Kaleb has developed a fascination with having his picture taken and then trying to see his picture on the back of my camera. The last picture below was taken after he climbed over me to see one of these pictures. He was also very good at pushing all the camera buttons. Good thing Nikon makes a baby-proof camera! I just gotta remember to wipe it down between sessions!

If you are following my blog posts, you’ll notice all of my cousins are keeping me busy…and I couldn’t be happier! My cousin Nathan with his wife Kathy have an 8 month old, Kaleb. This was the first time I’ve been able to make it out to their house to meet him, and I’m so glad I did! This guy was so well behaved I couldn’t believe it! Just the sweetest little boy you’ve ever seen.
Congratulations Nathan and Kathy! I can’t wait to see you guys again!
Thanks to Ashley for a few of these pictures. She’s going to have to get her own photo blog soon!

Kaleb already has quite a collection of souvenir bats that his father picks up for him while on the road for work.

Two teeth!

One of the hazards of photographing on the floor. No one’s safe from that tongue!

What a good looking family!

My cousin, Tessa, just had her baby, Ethan, and I’m so excited to have met him! He is so cute! Welcome to the family Ethan!
He is quite a handful for Tessa and Luke right now but you could tell they couldn’t be prouder. I think they are going to be great parents to this little guy. He didn’t really like being photographed. Hopefully he doesn’t hold it against me because I did bring him an “I heart NY” onesie as a birthday present!
Congratulations again Tessa and Luke! I’m looking forward to seeing you guys again soon!

I had the pleasure of finally meeting Zoe this weekend! I still can’t get over how wonderful she is! I’ve been friends with her mom, Traci for a few years now and was so excited when I heard that she and her husband, Pierre, had a baby girl! Zoe is almost one year old and she’s just as cute as ever. They live in a great apartment in Brooklyn and I couldn’t be happier for them with such a wonderful baby! Traci, you can call me anytime to babysit!
