We had such a great time photographing Mary Beth and Chaz’s wedding at Pelham/Split Rock Golf Course up in Westchester. This was one of those absolutely perfect fall days where the temperature was just cool enough to keep you from overheating while being warm enough to still feel like summer. You could get a hint of the fall breeze which made the day that more bitter sweet knowing the season change was just around the corner. But for the moment the summer was holding out just long enough for Mary Beth and Chaz’s wedding.
I have the pleasure of knowing Mary Beth and Chaz from my theatre days when I did some work for the Public Theatre in Central Park. Seeing the transformation of both of them from everyday theater carpenters to Bride and Groom was a great thrill for me. I find I’m often in the position of spending a day with and getting to know the bride and groom, working on their pictures for weeks after the wedding, and then meeting them afterwards slightly surprised that they aren’t wearing the same clothes I’ve come to know them as wearing. Mary Beth and Chaz had the opposite effect on me. I almost expected Mary Beth to be wearing steel-toed boots under that dress.
Ashley and I were so happy to have had the opportunity to be your photographers Mary Beth and Chaz. Wishing you the best of luck in the years to come.
